Overview

Located in the vibrant heart of Sevilla on C. Cristo de la Sed, Restaurante La esquina del sur offers an authentic taste of southern Spanish cuisine with a welcoming atmosphere that perfectly matches the spirit of the city. This restaurant stands out for its intimate space, where locals and visitors alike can enjoy a casual yet flavorful dining experience. The menu showcases a well-curated selection of montaditos, serranitos, and traditional revueltos that capture the essence of Andalusian flavors with simple, fresh ingredients.

The montaditos and serranitos are particularly noteworthy, with classic combinations like tender lomo and chicken paired with homemade sauces that elevate each bite. Their take on the traditional “serranito de cerdo” introduces layers of texture and taste, blending juicy pork loin with roasted peppers and the warmth of a freshly made tortilla. These small sandwiches, complemented by crispy potatoes and distinctive alioli or whisky sauces, form the heart of the culinary experience here.

For those seeking richer dishes, the revueltos offer a delightful variation with creamy scrambled egg dishes that combine mushrooms, gambas, and aromatic garlic and parsley. These plates bring a rustic charm, highlighting regional ingredients prepared with care and flair. The balance between robust flavors and delicate textures makes each dish memorable without overwhelming the palate.

Completing the meal are well-chosen desserts, including premium Ben&Jerry’s ice cream varieties that provide a cool and indulgent finish. This blend of traditional Andalusian fare with modern comfort touches solidifies La esquina del sur’s appeal for a diverse audience—whether it’s a casual lunch, an evening out with friends, or a stopover during a city stroll.

The restaurant’s location in Sevilla ensures easy access for both tourists and residents seeking an authentic but relaxed dining option. With attentive service and a cozy yet lively ambiance, Restaurante La esquina del sur invites patrons to savor the genuine flavors of the south while enjoying a convivial environment that feels like a true neighborhood gem.

The Latina brunette who works there was there on Sunday, February 22nd, around 7 or 8 pm when I went. She's rude. I arrived at 7:40 pm, there was no one at the bar, and this brunette girl was standing next to it talking to two other employees who were eating at a table. She saw me come in and kept talking. After 5 minutes of standing there waiting, I went up to her and asked if I could order takeout. She told me it was after 8 pm, so I decided to order a soda while I waited. She rudely told me to sit down, that she'd be right with me. The girl kept talking to her colleagues and even sat down while I waited on the terrace to be served. 15 minutes later, I got up to go back inside. She gave me a dirty look and kept talking while I stood at the bar for 5 minutes until one of the colleagues she was talking to had to get up and put down his plate of food to give me a simple soda while the other one calmly continued her chatter, giggling and laughing, as if Nothing... In the end, I asked the waiter for my food, and 20 minutes after he finally brought it, the waitress was still talking and ignoring the customers complaining on the terrace. I think her service is terrible, and she gives customers dirty looks when we ask for something. The food was awful, too. I ordered the house special sirloin steak because I really wanted the goat cheese it came with, but they skimped on the cheese. There were literally only two pieces of sirloin and a lot of caramelized onion, not even a hint of goat cheese. I absolutely do not recommend it; neither the food nor the service is worth it.

I've never had a better arepa in my life!! I ordered an Arepa Dogui and my friend ordered a Patacón Superdogui, which was also incredibly delicious. (The arepa came with a fantastic presentation; it was so delicious that I forgot to take a picture before I'd eaten most of it). I have to go back.

Located near Madre de Dios, this restaurant offers both Latin American dishes and Spanish tapas on its menu. In this case, we tried the Colombian empanadas and the famous special salchipapa. The prices are very affordable for the average person, and the portions are generous. The restaurant is large and has plenty of tables.

Wonderful. All the dishes are very generous for the price, and the food was all delicious. What a great job by the cook and what a treat for your wallet! The atmosphere was calm and pleasant, the waitresses were a bit distracted but very nice and friendly too. We were three people, and after a couple of tapas each, we were so full that we had to take the bandeja paisa we ordered as our main course in Tupperware. Highly recommended, we'll be back many times.

The food was quite good, the arepa, according to my friend who is Venezuelan it didn't seem very tasty, but I liked the empanadas and the price the most, we spent €24 for 2 people, 1 beef arepa, 2 chicken empanadas, 2 potato balls with beef, very tasty, fried yuca with salsa and more soft drinks, the place with Colombian music, clean and good atmosphere

Quality food at a good price. I only went to order Colombian food, so I can't comment on the Spanish dishes. I recommend the tamales (the meat is amazing), the mixed patacón, the empanadas, and the fried yucca. So far, the best Colombian food I've had in Seville.
